Minnesota and Southern Africa

Minnesota is aligned with five countries in Southern Africa: Angola, Botswana, Seychelles, Zambia, and Zimbabwe as well as British Indian Ocean Territory. Coaches, athletes, donors, volunteers, and staff come alongside these teammates through the strategy of Pray, Give, Go. You can learn more about each Southern Africa teammate and find their giving links and contact information below. You will also see project opportunities and any scheduled GO Trips.

Our Southern Africa Ministry

ANGOLA

7080HA00
The team in Angola leads a ministry to marginalized children in the Lubango region. They train coaches and athletes for life from the basic principles of soccer, social principles, and biblical truth. Through their work with these young athletes, they are also reaching their families with the Gospel of Christ. Their vision is to reach all of Angola.

BOTSWANA

7040WA00
The Botswana team leads basketball ministry in the inner city of Gabarone, Botswana, where they reach and share the Word of God while teaching valuable basketball skills to children from five elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools. They are expanding ministry beyond these schools, beyond Gabarone, and beyond basketball.

ZAMBIA

7044P100
Zambia ministry centers almost exclusively around soccer (or as they call "real football"). They work to bring the Gospel to coaches and athletes all throughout Zambia, especially to the "least of these" who are living in difficult home situations and need to know the love of Christ and the love of a coach.

The team in Zimbabwe works with schools throughout the country, impacting 7,500 to 10,000 kids per year. The aim of the program is to develop sports and life skills and to share the Gospel in order to teach young people to give back to the community in different ways.
